Have Dashboard Widgets On Your Desktop

I love my widgets, but I know a lot of people who don't love having to open up dashboard every time they want to see them. So today's mac trick is for them.

To get widgets on your desktop follow these simple steps.
  1. Open Terminal (Applications>Utilities>Terminal) and enter defaults write com.apple.dashboard devmode YES
  2. Log out of your user account and log back in
  3. Open up the dashboard and click and hold the widget you want to place on your desktop
  4. Now hit the dashboard shortcut key (usually F12 or F4 on the mac)
You should now have the widget on your desktop. To reverse this do the exact same thing only backwards. Click and hold while on the desktop and then hit the dashboard shortcut key.
